Tuesday Morning Sketches 178

Merry Christmas!  Today is our holiday edition of Tuesday Morning Sketches and this week we are trying something a little different.  Our sponsor this week is Melissa herself with a huge blog candy giveaway.  We are also working without a sketch this week.  Instead, the challenge is an Anything Goes challenge.  So this is your chance to try a technique you have never tried or make a special gift for someone.  Since the prize is so sweet, you will really need to stop up your game.  The winner for this challenge will be voted on by the design team so have fun!

For this week, I chose to alter an insulated coffee mug.  I used paper from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found paper pack called Portobello Road.  The image is from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls collection and is called Clarissa and Camille Share a Cafe.

Here is a close-up of the mug.

Here is a close-up of the tag.

Now stop by the TMS Blog to see all of the goodies the girls have in store and be sure to play along for a great prize!

Here is our sketch:

Bugaboo was kind enough to provide us with some great stamps to work with.  The stamp I used is called Little Penguin-Winter.  Since penguins are black and white, I decided use that theme on my card.  The DP is from Teresa Collins called Christmas Home.  I also flipped the sketch upside down.

Check in with the rest of the design team and see more goodies.  Since next week is Christmas, TMS has a great specially challenge for you.  The sketch is sponsored by Melissa herself and it will be too good to miss.  So come prepared to bring your A-game.  It is a prize worth playing for!

Final Sketch For You To Try

It is hard to believe it is the final Sketch For You To Try, but since I completed the first eleven sketches this month,  just had to finish the twelfth.  Here are links to the first 11:

Here is my card for the final challenge:

Since I needed one for Christmas card, I used the new MFT A La Mode set called You Shine.  The image is layered on My Mind's Eye-Be Merry paper.  There a multiple colors of Stickles on the lights and the star on her headband.

Thanks to Jen and her team for a wonderful year of sketches.  It has been great getting a chance to do all twelve SFYTT sketches this year.  It is the first time ever for me.  I usually end up missing one somewhere.  It will missed.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 176

Well the Christmas countdown has begun.  Do you have your shopping done?  My is done.  Now I have to work on wrapping.  We have another great sketch for you this week from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is Debbie from Close to My Heart.  We have a bonus challenge this week too.  The challenge is Non-Traditional Christmas.  Here is our sketch:

Theresa was kind enough to supply the design team with stamp sets from Close To My Heart.  For my card, I used Flakey Friends and Capture the Date.  As I was creating my card, I totally forgot about the bonus challenge and had to make some edits after the card was done.  I went with non-traditional colors.  The colors I used were blue and brown, with a pop of red and green.  The paper I used is by American Crafts and is called Jolly.  What could be better than that!

That's all for me today.  Have a great day!  Be sure to check out the rest of the TMS team to see their take on non-traditional Christmas.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 175

It is time for another sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This week's sketch is sponsored by...

Here is our sketch:

When I saw the sketch, the first thing I thought of was a frame, so that is exactly what I made.  I bought the frame at Target and used Close to My Heart paper that I had in my stash.  The snowman is a Pure Innocence set called Holiday Hugs Snowman.

Be sure to check out the rest of the goodies created by the TMS Design Team.  Have a great week!

It seems like I keep getting my card done for the Sketch For You To Try at the last minute.  Where does the time go?

For my card this month, I used the Pure Innocence set called Little Santa.  He is paired with the Die-namics Sleigh.  All of the DP is from the Teresa Collins paper pack called Noel.

That's all for me tonight.  Have a great weekend!

Here is our sketch:

For my card, DRS was kind enough to send us some goodies to play with.  I used Heat Swag Snowman and paired it with some Little Yellow Bicycle paper in Once Upon a Christmas.  For the tag at the bottom, I created a wreath out of circle dies and a branch punch.  The bow is from the Support Hope Die-namics die.

Have a great day!  Be sure to stop by the rest of the DT girls blogs and leave them some love.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 173

Hello and happy Tuesday!  We have another awesome sketch for you today at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is...

Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Here is the sketch:
Digital Delights was kind enough to send us some goodies to play with.  For my card, I used the Elf Kid digital stamp.  I paired it with some new to me My Mind's Eye-Tis the Season paper.  I am working on decorating some gift bags for our church's Christmas Benefit Tea and I had to go to AC Moore to find some ribbon when I came across a whole table full of Christmas 6x6 paper pads that you will be seeing more of in the coming weeks I am sure.  For the banner section, I used three ornaments from the Die-namics Ornaments set.  I cut them from glitter paper and hung them on pieces of baker's twine.

Be sure to play along with us and don't forget to check out the designer's blogs to see all of the great samples they have for your today too.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 172

Hi!  It is time for another great sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is...

This week is also a bonus challenge week and since our sponsor is all about making your own animals, that is our challenge to you.  For this week you have to make an animal using punches, die-cuts, or with a tear bear pattern.  Here is the sketch:

For my card, I used the My Favorite Things set called Contempo Cage.  The set comes with stamps and dies to create the cage and the little birdie.  The paper is all from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found paper pack in Portobello Road.  I never know what to to with paper that has little pictures on the sides of the paper.  Usually I end up just using the pattern on the back, but this time I cut the paper to make the element in the side of the sketch.  As I am sitting here writing this post, I realized that I forgot to put the element on the other side.  Oh well, maybe I will add a flower later, but it is too late to fix it now.

Have a great day week!  Be sure to play along with us!

Tuesday Morning Sketches 170

Happy Halloween Eve!  Tuesday Morning Sketches has another great sketch to play with today, so stop on over and play along.  Our sponsor today is...

Here is our sketch:

Since I am on a Christmas card kick, I made another one for this week's challenge.  I used the Meljen stamp called (appropriately enough) Candy Canes.  The DP is from My Mind's Eye's paper pack called Holly Jolly.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things-a la mode set called Candy Cane Kisses.  The dots around the image are accented with blue sparkles and the banner die is outlined with a row of rhinestones.

Have a fun day!

Sketch For You To Try-October

Well as I sat here tonight riding out the rest of Hurricane Sandy, it occurred to me that I had forgotten to do this month's Sketch For You To Try.  Since there was no guarantee how long our power would stay on, I set to work just in case I couldn't get it done tomorrow.

For my card, I used the new My Favorite Things set called Have Hope and paired it with the MFT Die-namics die called Support Hope.  All of the design paper is from My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found paper pack in Blush.

Have a great night and stay safe if you are in Sandy's path.

Stamp Fairy gave the DT some fun stamps to play with as well.  Here is the sketch:

For my card, I chose the Stamp Fairy stamp called George Ornaments 2.  I just love snowmen and this one was so cute.  All of the DP is from My Mind's Eye Be Merry paper pack.   The snowman is accented with Stickles and the ornament is painted with Pearlescent Watercolors.

Have a great day!  Be sure to stop by the TMS blog to leave the girls some love.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 168 - Cards for Denise

Hello Everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Tuesday Morning Sketches has another wonderful sketch for you today and we are sponsored by StampingScrapping.  Here is the sketch:

My card is for my friend, Denise, who is beginning her third battle with cancer.  She had breast cancer ten years ago and beat it, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year and beat it again.  Now she is fighting for her life again as cancer has invaded her bladder and lymph nodes.  She is the strongest woman I know and meets each battle with a positive attitude.  I made this to encourage her to stay strong.  If you would like to join me in supporting Denise's fight by sending a card, please email me at dawnbarghorn@yahoo.com and I will send you my address to mail cards to that will then be delivered to Denise.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics set called Girly Graphic Tee and paired it with My Mind's Eye Lost and Found paper.  The swirls are cut from glitter paper using Die-namics dies.

Here is the inside.  I just loved this sentiment.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT to see how they interpreted this sketch.  Have a great day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches 167

Since today is Tuesday you know what that means...Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is

We also have a bonus challenge this week.  This week's bonus is "The Letter E."  Here is the sketch:

Sassy Studio Designs was kind enough to supply us with our choice of stamp to use on this challenge, so I chose Little Honey Belle.  Belle has to be my favorite princess.  I made my flower layer from several circle die-cuts and "Edged" them with Stickles.  My card has a bit of an "Elegant" theme.  The corners were a bit too plain, so I "Edged" them with corner edges and added some pearls.  I also added an "Extra" layer behind the flower since you know I don't like circle cards.  Can you see my letter E?

Enjoy your day.  Now be sure to check out the rest of the design teams blogs to see how the interpreted the "Letter E."

Celebrating Theresa

Today is cause for celebration!  Theresa from Tuesday Morning Sketches is celebrating two things, her 50th birthday and being 5 year cancer survivor!  Join us in celebrating Theresa.  Go to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and check out the bonus challenge to help us celebrate Theresa.  This challenge will remain open all month so you have plenty of time to play.

For my card, I used the Pure Innocence set by MFT called Cause for Celebration and colored her with Copics.  All of the design paper is from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found collection called Blush.  I created the flower using the Flower Medley Die-namics dies and layered it on a bling breast cancer ribbon.  The dress was paper pieced and the the ribbon was colored with Copics.

I am entering this card in a couple of challenges.  The first one is the MFT Guest DT challenge for this month, which was a sketch.  The second challenge is the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenge One.  This challenge was to use the "thing that makes you, You."  For me, I love bling!  I wear it all the time.

Here is a list of all the blogs that are celebrating Theresa too:

Party goers:

That's all for today!  Join us in wishing Theresa a Happy Birthday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches 166

Hello!  Welcome to another edition of Tuesday Morning Sketches.  We have an awesome sponsor this week:

Paper Pretties was generous enough to give the DT their choice of digital images to play with as well, so be on the lookout for some great images on the DT creations this week.  Now, here is the sketch:

For my card, I used the Paper Pretties image called Warm Wishes.  It appears that Jessi and I have the same taste because we both picked the same image to work with.  I just love snowmen and this year I am going to try to get a jump on making Christmas cards since I failed miserably last year.  Luckily I still have all the cards I made last year and never sent to help with this year's list.  All of the DP is from the My Mind's Eye paper pack called Be Merry.  I flipped the sketch upside down and put my pearls at the top so that I could add a banner edge to the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out the rest of the TMS Design Team's blogs and see all of the yummy goodness.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 165

I think it's Tuesday.  Am I right?  It has been so crazy around here I can't keep things straight.  If it is Tuesday then today is the day for another great Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.  Our sponsor today is...

And here is the sketch by Theresa.

Unfortunately I was in need of a sympathy card, so that is what I went with for this sketch.  I used some new Basic Grey Serendipity papers.  My sentiment is from My Favorite Things and is called Clearly Sentimental About Grandparents.  On the inside I used Clearly Sentimental About Sympathy.  The flowers are all cut using the Die-namics Flower Medley set.

That's it for me today.  Hoping to fit in some stamp time again soon, but both my boys are playing hockey and one is playing baseball too.  Be sure to check out the rest of the DT blogs for some great cards and also play along.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 164

Happy Tuesday!  We have another great sketch for you today from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Our sponsor this week is Guylou's Inimitability.  Here is our sketch:

For my card, I used the Guylou stamp called Angela.  It was a freebie a while ago.  I just loved this girl and her Vespa.  I used My Mind's Eye World Traveler paper and layered my image on a Die-namics Doily Oval.  Instead of a bow, I pleated the ribbon along the side of my image.  Once I had the card assembled, it needed a little bling, so I added some dark red pearls to the corner.

That's all for me today.  Stop by the DT blog for more goodness and be sure to play along with us!

Tuesday Morning Sketches 163

It is Tuesday again and school is back in swing.  We have a new sketch this week from Tuesday Morning Sketches and it was designed by...ME!  Our sponsor this week is Designed2Delight.  We also have a bonus challenge this week.  The bonus challenge is FALL.  Here is the sketch:

Now when I think fall, I think...FOOTBALL.  So you won't find a pumpkin or leaf on my card today.  I used the MFT Die-namics Jersey set and paired it with some MME On the Bright Side paper.  I found this really cool mesh in a box and it gave the image a little bit of dimension.  I added some Die-namic Stars and the football from the MVP set and viola!

Although my card is all about football, we are at the beginning of hockey and baseball season here.  May your team have a winning weekend, unless of course they are playing my team.

Be sure to check out the DT creations and play along with us too!

SFYTT-September

Wow can you believe it is September already?  Where did the summer go?  I am not adjusting well to having to get up early for work again every morning.  Today I was able to play with the September Sketch For You To Try.  Here is the sketch:

Next weekend I was invited to a college football theme baby shower.  How cool is that?  I love college football.  The new parents are Iowa fans, but I am a diehard Michigan fan, so here is the card I came up with.  The papers on the card front are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Sunshine paper pack and the onesie is die-cut from October Afternoon Schoolhouse paper.  The Iowa image was downloaded from the internet.

Now a true fan, can't let it go at that, so the inside of the onesie says...

As a baby gift, I had my sister make a fleece blanket with an Iowa argyle pattern.  See, I can be nice too.  Have a great Saturday!
